Players can explore the Zombie Institute before the event, learn about its senior researchers, review the facility’s history, and prepare for their highly anticipated research-center tour.

Zombie Escape-Room Mystery Game Synopsis:

The Zombie Institute is a world-renowned research facility created after the epidemic scare of 2035. Scientists from around the globe have dedicated their careers to studying the fictional Gen-Z Virus, a fast-acting infection that transforms humans into brainless members of the undead. With civilization hovering dangerously close to a zombie apocalypse, the institute has become humanity’s greatest hope for survival.

Rumors are spreading that one of the institute’s laboratories has finally developed a cure. Further clinical trials must be completed before the discovery can be officially announced, but your group has secured a rare tour of the facility. You are eager to explore the research laboratories, meet the senior scientists, and observe the institute’s zombie research subjects.

During the tour, a scientist releases the virus inside the building and sabotages the newly developed cure. Your teams must race through eight challenges, win valuable clues, determine how to recreate the antidote, and identify which of the institute’s seven researchers caused the outbreak. The clock is ticking, the zombies are restless, and this is where your story begins.

This game does not use traditional player character roles. The seven researchers are suspects within the story, but they are not portrayed by the guests.

This is a non-murder mystery. Players are attempting to recreate the zombie cure and identify the saboteur who released the fictional virus.

The downloadable version supports an unlimited number of players because the group is divided into teams of 2–4. Hosts must print and prepare the required challenge materials for each team.

The game includes eight challenges, three video components, backup video scripts, researcher biographies, saboteur clues, zombie-cure clues, investigation sheets, and a separate answer key.

The zombie theme is intentionally cheeky rather than graphic or gory. The age recommendation of 13 and up is based primarily on the theme and moderate challenge level.
