Fine Wine, Wicked Murder: Murder Mystery Party Game

We had a great time and appreciated the game setup, instructions, and content. Only advice to others is that players share their “secrets” (info only the character is supposed to know) with at least one other player. We kept all secrets to ourselves and, to solve it in the end, we started sharing the secrets with each other and only then could we figure it out. Overall, great mystery game and we definitely want to do another one!

It was easy to organise with all the very detailed documents and it went really smoothly - we had a laugh!!

Game was a lot of fun however the characters were a bit complicated.

We had a GREAT time playing the characters. Loved the pregame items. It got everyone in the mood. The collection of characters was fun and our group were great actors so they really embraced it. Everyone did the accents and the variety of characters was awesome! For the game itself, the story was a rather fantastical and details pretty thin, also the character professions were not well understood by the writers e.g. computer programmer is a different job to tech support but the game used them interchangeably (who cares really, but a guest brought it up and it's details that make something really excel!). Our group is a relatively academic bunch so we craved more detail to pour over and found the murderer to be disappointingly obvious. I spent ages trying to work out which game to pick, even called the help line, but didn't get much guidance. I should have gone for a hard one perhaps? Or maybe some are more tested than others and have more details or more red herrings to discard? Either way, these are finer points that would have made it exceptional (and helped justify the heft package price - incidentally a $80 mark up for printing and envelop stuffing seemed pretty absurd, but maybe given it's a small company labor costs to do that are just that high?!), but as it was, it was really fun, and that's the aim! So while it wasn't exactly as I'd hoped in terms of the complexity of the story, it was an awesome night and we'd love to play one again.

I started to write my own murder mystery, and realized too late that I was in over my head. The morning of the party I bought this pack, and edited it to fit the theme I had already made (pretentious art show). It ended up working perfectly, because art ends up being a pivotal story point. Saved the party from a sub par mystery.

I hosted this murder mystery wine tasting and dinner party last weekend (Jan 2021) and all my friends are still talking about it! If you have any doubts, just go for it!! It really helps if you make sure everyone dresses up to help them get into character and for decorations I bought some caution tape and marked the ground with painters tape in an outline of a body for the “victim”. I would recommend making sure you have enough printer paper and ink because there’s about 40 pages to print out. Also, if you need to contact this company for questions on what characters are critical (I only had 4 ppl) , you can email and they reply really fast! One other thing I did for the wine tasting, was buy the 19 crimes brand of wine. This was perfect with the murder mystery theme!! Good luck and have fun!!

Perfect size for our small group. Everyone had a blast playing and got really into some of the characters. Only con I would have to say was I wish the clues were on separate pages (yes I know a waste of trees) but when cutting the clues I had a hard time focusing on NOT reading.

We purchased this murder mystery the day of the party and it was quick to get everything together! Everyone had a great time!

I have read thru all the literature a couple of times and still trying to figure out how to get it to play out in my head. I'm afraid if I assign all 16 participates I'm going to do 8 to 10 i will run over on time. In each round i suppose each character needs to be called on to play there part then give everyone time to meet and great ask questions the characters.
Looking forward to giving it a go. look forward to full review afterwards.

5 of us played the wine tasting murder mystery and we had a great laugh! I was nervous as to how it would work out, since I didn't want to spoil the mystery for myself. But I placed all clues into different envelopes and the clues were very well organized and easy to follow. My guests followed the costume requests which was key. I highly recommend, I will be purchasing more in the future!

I've always wanted to have a murder mystery party. The instant download was fun and a hit with my friends. Everyone dressed up in custom and got into their character.
The clue cards had all the information needed. I was able to adapt the party games to a format that worked digitally.
I would love to purchase another kit in the future and have been recommending this site to friends and family.

I did this with my 4 other quarantine pals. It was so much fun! I "hosted" it, but I also played Gretchen Audigger. What a fun night! It was really fun to switch up the quaran-routine. Everyone got into character and it was an awesome evening. The story line worked well and it was a very entertaining mystery!

Really enjoyed playing this with my family for my birthday!! We were a group of 6 and it was so much fun! I was able to be the host and not know the results! I really recommend this story line, its very fun and easy to play.

We planned for an evening of fun over Christmas vacation when hosting a group of six adults. One of them our daughter's boyfriend from Australia. We wanted an ice-breaker game and got it in Fine Wine Good Friends. Which is not about good friends at all. It's about asking "personal" questions, dropping outrageous hints, acting audaciously and paying attention to detail. What fun!

Picked this for my staff Christmas party and we had a lot of fun! You definitely get out of these as much as you are willing to put in though. If people are willing to get into character and play it up, it's super fun. 4 stars because you have a lot of info dumped on you all at once at the start of the game, and it makes it a bit overwhelming at first to get into it. Once you get the hang of it though, and the wine loosens people up, it makes for an enjoyable evening.

We had a blast playing our characters. I agree with a previous review that if we had more info about our characters earlier it would have been helpful. We loved the story line and how easy it was to put together. Plus we always enjoy wine!

This was my first game from this company and I picked the Wine themed game, assuming it would have something to do with the story and characters. But no--it was just a wine tasting party hosted by one of the suspects but no connection to anything else. Could have been a graduation party or anything else.

And, in round 3 (just before accusations), there were several required "private" discussions that added nothing to the insight for the group (obviously). Not sure why those had to take place.

Otherwise, it played well, was entertaining, and everyone had a great time. I hope the others are a little more polished.

Loved the twist at the end, was not expecting this.
It would have been good if each character had more information about them selves before the game and not half way through, people could have played their role more
Every one had a great time all the same with non-alcoholic drinks an option.

I love this game. I ordered this game because I have always wanted to have a murder mystery party. I didn't know how it would turn out. I decided to turn my house into a winery to go with the concept and it was fun. All of my guest had a ball. They want to know when my next party. If you want to have a great time I would suggest you buy this.

The game was so much fun, but I must warn those trying the various wines. Half of our group suffered terrible hang-overs the next day.

Eight women played this game for a 33rd birthday party. Some people started out right away in their character, others took some time. Soon all were in the zone, acting, reacting, and having a ball. The wine tasting went well, and everyone loved getting their envelopes as the game progressed. Only one person actually wrote down the murderer, but the surprise of the evening is when another woman shot the murderer with a nerf gun. I won't say who because that would be a spoiler. We decorated the dining room with china and crystal and candlelight. The wine tasting room was decorated like a birthday party, pom poms, garlands, and big "33" numbers. The dance game was great!

We used the game and expansion pack for a work get together and I can say...this is the most fun we have ever had together as a group! The costumes were great, the characters developed as the story went on and it was just difficult enough to where only 2 of us got it right! We loved the bonus games and we did incorporate the wine tasting, which was great!

This was definitely a purchase I was happy with. I wish there had been multiple ending choices but otherwise it was perfect.
