Teen Idol Awards: Murder Mystery Party Game

Fabulous party. Great for our daughter’s 13th birthday party. Girls loved dressing up and really got into their characters!

My daughter wanted to host a Murder Mystery Party for her 14th Birthday Party and I had no idea where to start. My Murder Mystery was great and with the purchase of my digital download I had everything I needed! The party was a hit!! All of her friends had a blast and they are still talking about it! Now I am hosting one for my 5th grader.

We used this murder mystery for a tweens birthday party. We had about eighteen 11 to 13-year-olds. It was a lot of fun, but a little challenging for them. No one ended up guessing the right person, but everyone had a great time. I would totally recommend it, but maybe for ages 13 and up, or have extra help from adults to push them to question things a little bit deeper.

We hosted the Teen Idol Awards Murder Mystery party for my daughter's 12th birthday. It went so well! The kids loved getting into their characters, dressing up and solving the murder. They talked about it in the lead-up and are still talking about it now. We ended up with 13 participants (4 boys and 9 girls). I was so impressed with how clever the structure of the content is, flexing to accommodate the number and composition of your group without anyone feeling left out. We were even able to easily flex to accommodate two guests unable to attend on the day. The kids were able to follow it with minimal assistance from me on the day. It was so good to host a different type of event and I think this will be really memorable for them. Thanks and well done.

I used this game pack for a group of 14 teenagers at a youth group event. They got into it so quickly because the descriptions are so fun and interesting and the rounds makes sense and they had a lot of fun. I would highly recommend this to anybody all you do is print it out hand out the parts and off you go. Loved it

I purchased this for my daughter's 16th birthday. They had a blast! It was so cute hearing them act out their parts.

I have done several murder mystery parties. They did theirs in record time: around 1 hour! Even though, it didn't take away from their fun.

I forgot to write a review in December when we hosted the Murder at the Teen Idol Awards for my daughter's 16th birthday. I was reminded today of how awesome it was when one of her friends asked for the website info so that she could host one for her upcoming birthday.

The teens had a blast and were fully engaged in the mystery for 2-3 hours, and they were NOT on their phones! We had about 20 kids, mostly girls. It was a bit of a struggle to get the male parts covered but pulled in the 12 yr old brother & his friend to help. (He even enjoyed it.) My daughter and I assigned parts based on personality and her friends arrived dressed accordingly--celebrities, news reporters, & police officers. We used the expansion pack, and none of those participants knew they were "non-essential."

The discovery of the crime scene was the highlight! While the victim prepared to be discovered, I applied bloody handprints & footprints & crime scene tape in the bathroom. (Nevermind that the victim was strangled.) Some kids cheered at the demise of the victim, some looked in disbelief, some took selfies. The victim's mother even participated and cried over her fallen child. The whole scene was chaotic but hilarious.

Overall, the party was a success. I received many compliments from the kids, and my daughter's happiness at the event was worth the effort. I initially set out to just do a theater themed birthday party, but I am so happy I stumbled upon mymysteryparty.com.

We did this for my daughter‘s 13th birthday and all the kids had a really good time. Even the boys who didn’t initially want to get that into character were having fun with it, and even commented as such.

You really don’t have to put a lot of work into this in order to pull it off. However, it would be nice if there were a way to select an alternative set/story where the murder victim is the other gender, just in case you need it or something.

We love this product, but we accidentally paid for two when we ordered them.

Our group of 13 had a great time

This package was perfect for my daughter's 12th birthday party. We had a nearly all-girl invite list, so there was work on my part to rewrite some of the characters to make them female (we did need a few male characters, so my husband took one, one girl willing to take on a male part and one "dummy" guest who was also male. This was actually one of the most fun parts: our fake "Ian" who wasn't feeling well and sat on the couch all night. Sometimes his balloon head would fall off, to great hilarity.)

Our guest all arrived dressed up. We had a blend of kids who were super into the role playing and others who were more shy (so I assigned parts accordingly). The expansion character list was well done - none of the guests who weren't "essential" realized it.

The flow of the night was a perfect schedule. The games we did in between the "clue times" were so much fun. Half of our girls did not have cell phones, so we really didn't do the "warm-up" round of clues ahead of time (I passed these out as guest arrived and that worked well, too).

Before the party was over, every girl was begging me to host another Murder Mystery party - and when I do, I will be ordering one from My Mystery Party.com.

I ordered this for my daughter's 13th birthday. She was hesitant at first, but when she sent text messages to her friends with the assigned characters she really started to get into it and they did as well. 9 out of the 12 girls were dressed in character and had a blast! The directions were simple to follow for the set up and you can improvise the props & food to suite your party or available items to personalize it for your needs.

I got this for my twins' 12th birthday party. All the guests loved it and it was minimal prepping. Very simple yet fun. We're doing another one next year!
