A groovy 1970s disco murder mystery party game. This far-out mystery is packed with celebrity contestants, professional dancers, outrageous ’70s personalities, feuding dance partners, public scandals, hidden motives, suspicious behavior, and murder at the legendary House of Groove Discotheque.

Murder Mystery Party Game Synopsis:

The legendary House of Groove Discotheque is preparing to host its annual Disco Fever Competition. Groovy cats, foxy mamas, celebrities, professional dancers, athletes, entertainers, and other unforgettable personalities will soon flock to the hottest nightclub in town to cut a rug beneath the glittering disco ball. You have spent the entire year perfecting your dance-floor moves and are ready to arrive in your finest disco threads, dazzle the judges, and claim the spotlight.

Unfortunately, the road to the competition has been anything but smooth. Dance partners are feuding, contestants are trading accusations, personal scandals have captured the public’s attention, and several participants appear determined to sabotage their rivals. The club’s management remains hopeful that everyone can set aside their grudges long enough to keep the competition moving, but tensions are rising faster than the beat of a disco anthem.

When the evening takes a deadly turn, the surviving guests must examine the evidence, question their fellow contestants, uncover hidden motives, and determine who committed the crime. You will be there because you are no square, and this is where your story begins.

We did this murder mystery for our work party, and it was a blast! Everyone got into character and expressed how much easier this format was compared to a previous year. We enjoyed the gameplay and the character selection to make for a fun evening.

Amazing!

The game was amazing from start to finish! Everything was well laid out and easy to follow. We got a ton of compliments and will be recommending this site to others.

Thank you!

Panic at the House of Groove

I chose to do this for my birthday this year and what a blast my friends and I had! It was a bit tedious in the set up, but once the ball got rolling, the game itself was very self explanatory. Everyone had so much fun getting in to character, definitely something I want to do again!

Panic at the House of Groove

Enjoyed this murder mystery product. It provided diverse participant options and an engaging plot. Suggestions for a dance competition were great--this was a highlight of our party. I also liked the final round and the explanations from each participant. There was a disconnect between the cause of death and the alibis of each participant.

Fun Time

I was skeptical after reading a couple character clues but I did this party with 20 people (bought the expansion pack also) and absolutely everyone had a great time. I had to make my own invites because the ones included did not match my aesthetic but the story overall was fun. This was our first time doing a murder mystery party and we took about a month to prepare..

Such a great time

We had a great time doing this mystery. It was the first one we have ever done. I printed it out and thought oh my.....will I understand what to do? But it was very self explanatory and laid out great!
It won’t be out last

This game is AWESOME!!! My friends and I played this for my birthday this past weekend and we had a blast. I’d totally recommend it to anyone else who was considering getting it!

Super fun, could use a tweak or two though

My friends and I loved this activity! The one thing that would have been nice is to have a one page instruction of the time line and what the host needs to do at each step. It was hard to scroll through the directions on my phone and try to remember what to do when since there is so much.

So much Fun!

My guests really enjoyed this event and I am super excited to try another one. The pre party conversations did not work out for us, I apparently had some shy people involved, but it did not hinder the game play and I just had them do the pre party conversations while we waited on everyone to arrive.

With the living room decorated as the discotheque and a banner on the front patio announcing the name and the slogan "where the music is killer" my guests really got a chuckle. I am now ready to host another party with most of the first group wanting to attend and many others requesting an invite.

Murder at the Disco!

LOVED this! It was so fun! The characters all got into it and I thought the pre-party conversations were a great added touch! It really helped get everyone excited for it!

new years eve party at the disco

We did this for New Years Eve and it worked so well! We set up out basement as House of Groove Discotheque and we had a disco ball, dance floor and all the lights and music from the 70's. The costumes were fabulous. The characters were great! The mystery went well... my only complaint was it was a little complicated and we had used all 14 characters... At the reveal, we only had 2 that guessed the murderer. This is the 1st murder mystery we have done. I would have liked it a little simpler and maybe the murderer should know he is the murderer in the second round instead of at the end....but overall it was a great time

Sweet 16 birthday-Disco Mystery party

Seems simple enough and all my daughters friends are thrilled to be invited to the murder mystery disco. We are requiring costumes. The kit comes with recipes for appetizers to serve and all included props are very nice. I think it’s well worth the price!

We LOVE My Mystery Party!!!

My young adult daughters hosted a party and played Panic at the Disco. (They had previously hosted parties and played Ravenwood Masquerade Murder Mystery, Murder at the Grand Gatsby, and East Side Story.) Just like the three parties before, everyone had a great time! We had a disco ball and two multi-colored, spinning light bulbs (that worked so much better than the colored light set that we tested out beforehand). They played bonus games and gave prizes to the best guy costume, best girl costume, first person to correctly guess whudunnit (first person who turns in their investigation sheet with the right answer), and best dance group to each member of the dance group for the bonus dance game. Adding the dancing has definitely taken our murder mystery parties to the next level! I love hearing all the laughter. I recommend hosts use a mic when making announcements and guests use a mic when making accusations.

Great evening

Great storyline and funny characters! The only issue I had was the making of the victim. Before handing out the round 2 clue cards you have to get the attention of the 'victim' to come with you or slip him his round 2 clue card already, before any of the other guests receive theirs. It was very hard to do this without it being obvious that he would become the victim.

Awesome!

I had such a fun time planning and having this event. I hosted it for my birthday. My friends enjoyed and the night was full of fun and laughs. I did have some trouble with the timing of things but it still worked out really well. It's easy to adapt if you need to make a few changes.

Super Fun Night!

This was the third My Mystery Party that I’ve hosted. Everyone had a great time! My guests liked having characters based off real people to help with costumes. I’ll definitely be using another My Mystery Party in the future!

Fun night!

I have done three mysteries from this company and they never disappoint. We had a great time at the disco! Host instructions were easy to follow, the kit didn't take too much time to prepare (although I've done three now and knew exactly what to do).
Love hosting these kind of parties!
