The owners of the old Madison Avenue Mansion are once again hosting their annual Mardi Gras Masquerade Ball, and the citizens of New Orleans are buzzing with excitement.
Of course, the excitement comes with a touch of dread. Locals know that events held at the historic mansion have a habit of going terribly wrong. The infamous French Quarter estate was built in the mid-1800s and is rumored to be haunted by malevolent spirits. Weddings held at the mansion famously end in divorce. Visiting travelers have vanished without a trace, and strange accidents have occurred during some of the estate’s most lavish gatherings. During one unforgettable gala, an uninvited guest wandered in from Bourbon Street, stole a bite of king cake, and promptly choked to death.
