Block-Party Murder Mystery Game Synopsis:
Godley Grove was once a peaceful community, but a recent crime wave and endless scandals have made it increasingly difficult for the local police department to keep order. Even so, the town remains famous for its thriving social scene, and the residents rarely allow a little trouble to interfere with a good party.
The residents of Magnolia Avenue are preparing for their annual neighborhood block party. Peyton Crownly, an unusual local stand-up comedian with an impressive collection of enemies, has claimed hosting honors and planned an evening of delicious food, entertaining games, and spirited conversation.
Unfortunately, the guest list includes bitter rivals, suspicious histories, bruised egos, and dangerous secrets that could turn a friendly gathering into chaos. When the block party takes a deadly turn, the surviving guests must examine the evidence, compare stories, uncover hidden motives, and expose the killer. You have received your invitation to Magnolia Avenue, and this is where your story begins.

So fun! Used for a 16th birthday party with a mix of school and church friends. It was great to introduce everyone to each other and it ensured a GREAT night. LOVED This mystery!
We had to come up with a new idea when the rain threaten to cancel our Fourth of July party. I needed something that I could throw together in a few hours and that would not require people to find very specific costumes. Murder at the Magnolia block party fit this perfectly.
I texted everyone their characters, descriptions and some quick costume suggestions and sat down to read the instructions. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and included everything I needed to run the game.
Many of my guests had never met before, so this was a great way to get them to start talking to people they didn’t know before. By the time, the mystery was solved, everyone was very comfortable with each other.
My only complaint is that the extra characters don’t really fit into the game smoothly. Since they are not included on any of the main characters’ information, stories or clues, they have to force themselves into the conversation with information from their cards that has little to do with what everyone else is discussing.
My 16 year old daughter and her friends had a great time with this party! 4 out of the 11 people playing correctly guessed the murderer, so I think it's a great fit for that age range... not too complicated but not too easy either.
This was an AMAZING ADDITION! I planned this party for my 35th birthday dinner and it couldn't have turned out better! I even had to do some last minute player reshuffling! We already have 3 people planning the next parties!
I like the fact that there is a real victim. Good characters and fun extra games.
