Cadbury Mansion: Murder Mystery Party Game

This murder mystery game was by far the best that we played. We do this yearly for Halloween and this one has such a surprise that we were left very satisfied.. the only recommendation I have is to simplify the directions. That it would be nice to have more like a boy kind of thing to help us has been going to keep us on track. This was definitely the ultimate game.

Overall, this was a fun, engaging murder mystery game kit. Purchasing the extended kit was useful so that as hosts we could participate without knowing any spoilers, and it made it much simpler for us to set up and orchestrate. I do wish the cost of the extended kit would be merged with the purchase of the pdf as it seems that the pdf should automatically come with purchase of the kit. There are some details with the kit that made the game a bit confusing at the end, including the ability of the murderer to actually perform the murder (they shouldn't have physically been able to do so). Also, the general instructions were for all characters to speak with every character at least once every round, but then there were specific instructions given to characters to not interact with specific characters, making it confusing. Also, we feel that there should be a disclaimer of some sort for sensitive character details; for example, in this game, one character is identified as being 'infertile,' and not knowing this detail beforehand could make for an uncomfortable situation if a participant or multiple participants themselves struggle with fertility. Overall, a great game, and we look forward to hosting more murder mystery parties in the future.

What FUN! Three weeks later we are still laughing about the games and events of each round. We had a small group of nine, and this being the first My Mystery party I have thrown, I’m glad it wasn’t bigger. Next time a larger group will not be as intimidating!

We threw this party for Halloween with our friends and it was a riot. We loved the Victorian theme and we went all out with our table setting & house decor. All our guests showed up dressed to the nines.
We have played *alot* of murder mystery dinners. We would say this one is very fun if you have people willing to get into character. We had people wandering around the house, getting up from the table to talk to people, private conversations in different rooms. That was a fun and unique element. The cons of this are that there is not as much full table interaction. There are limits on who you are supposed to talk to and who you are not, it’s a little ‘cliquey’ as part of the game. So you don’t get as much camaraderie and boisterous laughter with the full table as with other games. But all in all, still totally spooky and fun. Made a night we will never forget.

I’m sure we didn’t map this game as well as we could, but it didn’t matter we had so much fun. It was very engaging. Flowed nicely. All around great fun.

I used this for a group of 8 people and it worked great! Everything went smoothly and it couldn’t be easier to set up and run. This is the first one I have used and I am looking forward to using more, everyone is looking forward to our next murder mystery! Plus this has a great twist :)

We decided to do a small party for my daughter’s birthday and this was a perfect way to celebrate! I loved the surprise ending...didn’t see it coming! We will do another one in the near future. I highly recommend.

Best Halloween yet. From the game trailer to the invitation PDF and suggestions; it was well done. Hosted a halloween party for our friends and it was awesome. Everyone took it seriously and came well dressed and in character. Will definitely host more of these murder mysteries.

We have never been to or hosted one of these before this one. Our guest had an absolute fantastic time. Setting the house up took minimal effort but, of course I had to push the envelope. We set up fog machines for the guests to experience as they arrived. When the actual party started, we kicked in the lightning machines outside the house along with the sound inside which really set the atmosphere. All costume suggestions were matched by those playing and really took it over the edge and made it super fun. Since this was a setting of a fundraiser, we played right, left, center during one of the breaks in order to add to the fundraising feel. Everyone who attended had never participated in a murder mystery game but, always wanted to do so. I would definitely recommend this game. We are now expected to host these every Spring.

Great game. We had 18 people, and everyone felt involved. It was a very fun game, and we will definitely be doing more of them!

We hosted this game with 14 people, and overall everyone had a blast with the game. There were just a couple of minor hiccups that may have helped the game go a little smoother. Our victim was not informed to look under the bathroom sink for his victim sign as the host was instructed to place, so he had to find me and ask. Sometimes aspects of each characters actions and behaviors during game play seemed contradictory; Appolonia's was the most confusing. As the host, it may have helped to know ahead of time that we were collaborating on identifying the house floor plan too. When this came up we were all confused. But we figured it out and still enjoyed the game. Everyone wants to play again so we will be back! Thank you!

This was our first ever murder mystery party, and it was fantastic!! We played with the expansion and had a total of 22 guests! The instructions were easy to follow and really set us up for a great evening. We had a mixed group of friends so there were several people who didn't know each other, but that didn't really matter. Once the game starts everyone gets their clue card, and it really didn't matter as the game starts and everyone gets into character.

As hosts we weren't spoiled at all except for a few minor details that we were able to guess or infer based on some of the instructions, ie when the murder was going to happen, and who was suddenly missing from the group. This was so minor that it didn't even matter and we were definitely surprised with how everything unfolded.

We got rave reviews from all of our guests even the ones who were a little unsure at first. Can't wait to start planning next years party!

The game is easy to set up, the host instructions were clear. The plot was full of details and we could have played it for a lot longer than planned, as there's a lot to do. We didn't play any of the bonus games, due to time restrictions, but it's good that you can adapt the game to how much time you have. I'd use this website again.

Loved the bonus games, loved the plot, loved the twist, my friends and I had a ball!

Great game, easy to prepare - I have my kit ready to go for my party. The host instructions seem easy to follow, so I am not anxious that everything will go as planned. I am so excited!

We like the extra games included with the mystery and we haven't had the party yet but it looks to be on par with other parties we've purchased from other vendors. The site has a good selection of parties to choose from.
