Steampunk Time-Travel Murder Mystery Party Game Synopsis:
It is the year 2099, and Genesee Glasco, a demented quintillionaire heiress and the first ruler of the entire world, is hosting the ultimate retro gala. The steampunk-themed celebration will take place inside the magnificent Hematite Palace in Glasco Megalopolis, the newly established capital of the world.
Using a revolutionary invention created by the planet’s most brilliant scientists, Genesee has transported legendary icons, celebrated entertainers, famous thinkers, powerful rulers, and infamous villains from different points in history. The world has watched their bewildered arrivals on nuclearvision devices as each guest endured the painful journey through the Time Travel Epicenter.
The historical attendees have been isolated in secret locations throughout Diamond City and have not been told why they were brought into the future. Nobody knows what Genesee has planned for the gala, but the combination of enormous power, historical grudges, conflicting ideologies, and mysterious deaths promises a volatile evening. You are one of the icons forced through time, and when the unprecedented celebration becomes a murder investigation, the surviving guests must uncover the truth.

This was a very different game than others in the past we have played. I really get into making sure the atmosphere is perfect. So for this one I wanted to make it different. I set up different areas in my basement to be the different time period from the players. We had ancient Egypt's tomb in a hallway with writing on the walls and flickering candles. Rembrandts paintings in the Netherlands, 1950's diner for Monroe and more!
My party really enjoyed this one! The characters and theming were very fun and that led to a lot of fun interactions. The one critique I have is that the murderer was difficult to figure out. There seemed to be very little by way of motive or alibi that seemed to give the killer away. The additional information post-murder was a tad bit difficult to follow. Besides that, it was a great game!
Apparently this company needs to better define clean. Our youngest is 13 and it said that difficulty alone is the reason for the age suggestion, and I came to a clean murder mystery site to find a fun family birthday party for a couple Christian families. This is. AWFUL. It’s clean in terms of language, the wedlock and sleeping around themes are one thing, but with people having demonic possessions and “voices in their heads” telling them to do things, I don’t even know if we can do it. No refunds now, and the budget for this is spent, so the whole party might be off. It’s lazy writing to think you just need to fall back on demons whispering in peoples ears in what has such potential to be a fun logic driven steampunk murder mystery game. I’m offended, disappointed, scammed and upset.
We've done other Murder Mysteries and love them in general. This one in particular we really enjoyed since it was more interactive. From side conversations that were expected and had to the blood curdling scream. Definitely would recommend this one.
It was so much fun!!
