OMG, Murder: 1980s Murder Mystery Party Game

Like this game was totally awesome. We even purchased the extra characters. We had a total of 19 people. For many this was their first murder mystery and they're already begging to do it again. Thank you for an awesome game. This was perfect for our housewarming party.

This was such a fun party! Many of my guests loved the nostalgia of the 80s and the characters that represented popular 80s figures. We had so much fun and the evening went so smoothly no one was lost on what to do. My guests also went above and beyond in dressing for their characters which made it even more immersive. I would highly recommend this mystery.

We had the best time celebrating my 50th birthday with this murder mystery. Everyone really got into their characters and we all had a totally tubular time! Highly recommend!!

Great game. We have played others in the past and we enjoyed this one so much! Very easy for our guests to follow and understand. Not difficult to setup but do it with plenty of time. I received texts and calls today about how much fun it was! Highly recommend this 80’s game and highly recommend encouraging guests dressing up.

I host an annual murder mystery party every year, going on ten years now, and this was one of the most fun parties I've had! The costumes were easy enough for everyone to be right in character, and the story lines were hilarious. For extra fun, we named Muffy and Biff's friends funny similar names (We had Biff, Jiff, Yiff, Triff and Spiff as the boy group, and Muffy, Fluffly, Duffy and Spluffy as the girls.) The characters worked very well so that no one was left feeling like an extra.

Excellent product, flawless execution

This was SUPER FUN! We were a group of 30somethings geeking out over the fun characters. I'm the gamer of the group and so I was wildly surprised with how showed up in full character outfits and stayed in their persona all evening.
This was such a big hit, my friends have asked if we could do murder mystery parties more often, so we're doing the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta murder this May!!

MyMysteryParty really does a great job of organizing a fun game to make it easy for a newbie to host. I had my mom fill our envelopes for us so I could play along.

In the end, only 2 or 3 people out of 11 guessed correctly who the murderer was.

We had such a great time with this party. I invited friends from college, and we all graduated in the 80s. It was a lot of fun!! Would highly recommend this one.

Our whole party had a blast, definitely in the top 5 best New years parties we've thrown. Instructions and whole package were top notch. Can't wait for our next one we're going for the western gravestone.

I love all the murder mysteries I have bought They are a lot of fun, and I love all the different characters. I host these at work when we do an employee day and
everyone has so much fun. It is nice to see co-workers enjoying their day, laughing and sharing with each other. Great office party idea.

We had a great time playing this game. This is our second murder mystery party from this company and we were just as pleased with this set.

Threw this one for my office party and it was an instant hit!! We had participants of all age ranges 17 to 55 and everyone fit in perfectly. The night flowed smoothly and everyone left super stoked for another one! Would highly recommend!

I cannot say enough about this product. The day before our daughter’s 12th birthday party (a sleepover) the forecast changed to 100% rain all day. Our plan had been swimming, bonfire and outdoor movie for 14 preteens. You can imagine I was stressed when the plans changed. I purchased the download from the site, read all the materials and made name tags. I was worried that the girls wouldn’t know who the characters were, so I printed images and attached it to the name tags. This was 3 hrs of solid entertainment! We didn’t play games between because they couldn’t wait to get to the next part. I can’t wait to order another version and use all the extras that are provided for pre-party.

One thing I would suggest is to make sure all guests are following the solution cards appropriately. Some of our guests revealed the murder too soon, however we still had an amazing time!!!!!

Everyone loved it, the characters were great. This was my first time hosting and it was very easy. We can't wait to play another one!!

We loved it! We were able to mingle and move around while talking and gathering clues, It helped that everyone came in character and got into it! It was great!

My husband & I normally have an annually Halloween party, but due to COVID, we decided to try this with a few close friends instead.
1st: Don't let your friends see the whole character list. Long story short: you may end up with extra optional characters & a missing necessary one like we did, & have to get creative.
2nd: I found the directions to be a little vague as far as transition between rounds, & maybe that's on me, but that affected the score, as well as the fact that there is no way for the murderer/victim combo to change, so I find it to be a little pricey for a one shot deal
3rd: Expect to be surprised! This game is well-written & very silly, and it drew out the natural performer in people I never would have thought! We had a lot of laughs and it was definitely a great time
**Consider buying a mug shot photo background for this on Amazon. We found one that came with silly ID signs to hold that said stuff like "Booty Caller" & "Sotally Tober" and that just added a little fun boost to the night **

We had a wonderful time solving this 80's themed mystery. It was a group of 12 high school students and they loved dressing up, bringing popular 80's foods, a totally rad playlist, and the fun bonus games kept the party rolling. Thanks for a great event!

We did this for my wife’s birthday and had a blast!
It was really fun and easy to follow along. Even the guests we didn’t expect to get into character, Really got into it! I can’t say enough how much fun it was! My wife loved it and so did all of our friends!

We hosted this party for my daughter's 16th birthday. Everyone had a blast!

We were looking for an exciting family activity for my daughter's birthday, which unfortunately occurred during quarantine. This was perfect. Would have been better with more people (we were limited to family only) but everyone enjoyed it. They all dressed up and got into it. It's a great theme and a lot of fun. Now that I've done it, I would be able to do another one easily and it would be even better!

My sister-in-law turned 40 this month, and unfortunately, the country is in the midst of a public health crisis which makes going all out to celebrate nearly impossible. Nonetheless, the family came together and thought this going back to the 80s and trying something she has always wanted to try, a murder mystery party, would be a good way to both celebrate her and get our mind off the pandemic.

The term success is an understatement, when it comes to this game. My family had so much fun getting into and staying in character, playing their roles, and trying to figure out whodunit. It was a great game filled with both mystery and comedy. We have two preteens in our family, and the fact that they were able to participate in the clean and funny humor was a definite bonus. As the host, I loved the detailed instructions and organization of the game. I followed the outline and timeline which made the evening go smoothly. My family also enjoyed the bonus games. I went off script a bit with the bonus games, with incentives such as; the winner gets to make their dinner plate or choose their dessert first.

This was exactly what we needed during such a trying time. We cannot wait to try more games the site has to offer, but I would definitely recommend playing this game.

I was amazed how much fun this was to do! I chose to do the 80's murder mystery for my 40th birthday, cause like duh, I was born in 1980! I had 31 people participate and I have to say everyone took their characters very seriously! I printed off the packages and gave them all to my friend to organize, I didn't want to know anything about what was going to happen. She contacted everyone about a month before the party, I would say a month seemed like a decent amount of time for everyone to plan their characters. A week before the party she sent out the pre game so everyone had to contact a character, this was fun because there were total strangers bashing each other! I decorated the tables in 80's candy, pink popcorn, nerds, runts ect everyone loved having snacks and grown adults got to take loot bags home! I am so sad all the hype is over...but so happy that it was an amazing night! I will be doing many more of these! I wish I could post pictures!

This game was so much fun to play! Quick download, instructions were easy to follow. We had 18 players & all had a blast! Would definitely order another game to play

I got this package for my husband's 31st birthday party (he was born in the 80s), and we all had so much fun! A week out, everyone started enjoying putting their costumes together and completing the easy, optional pre-game tasks. At the party, the game flowed easily and my friends & family had fun getting into character! Even the people who weren't as excited to do a Murder Mystery Party (compared to the people who were LOVING the idea) told me they had so much fun! We had a group of 14, and very few people in the group had spent quality time together before - this was totally fine, and a fun way for people in our life to bond!
