Surviving Quarantine | Virtual Challenge Game

It's time to bring an epic challenge to your video chat nights with friends and family. Surviving Quarantine! A hilariously fun non-murder, non-roleplaying video chat platform challenge for 4-12 players of 11 years+. Each round, you will engage in exciting challenges, competing against other players in the game for the Immunity Icon, which prevents one player from being voted out. Survive six rounds of fun challenges and be declared the winner! No worries - there will be fun roles for the voted-out players in the game - nobody is taken out of gameplay.   This game is highly variable in length of gameplay. The more players in the game, the longer it will take (~ 1.5 hours for 4 players and ~3.5 hours for 12 or more). It can be spread over two (or more) events to shorten the amount of time you must play in one setting.  Also, the host has ways to speed things along, if needed.  

The game is designed for the host to play along as a contestant and a game-show executive. However, only seasoned party hosts who are familiar with their video chat platform should take on the role of party host and contestant, as it could get hectic if you are not organized or confident. Confidence is easily built with preparedness, though.

Note: the host should be tech savvy enough to play a 13 minute video (YouTube, Vimeo, or from a website) on the video chat platform and be able to pause it when prompted. It is also suggested for each player to have two devices for ease of communicating while on the video chat. Albeit, that is not mandatory - you can toggle the video chat.

Mystery Synopsis:

An upcoming reality television show, Surviving Quarantine, is about to begin filming the first season. An eclectic cast of the most intriguing people will come together and compete as members of two factions – the Lockdown Legends and Home Alone Hotshots. Alliances will be made and broken, and challenges will be thrown, lost, and won. All quarantined competitors will fight to find the game-changing Immunity Icon – the coveted golden toilet tissue that will grant immunity from being voted out during the Purge Trials.

You are one of the fortunate contestants of the show. You’ve been studying trivia, practicing your balance, and finetuning your memory skills to prepare for the win. You have no idea what will be in store for you, but you’ll be ready for anything that comes your way. This is where your story begins.

YOU WILL RECEIVE:

• Host instruction file - including bonus games to play virtually, player instructions, and a timeline sheet (abbreviated instructions) for your event.

• Host Game Packet - you are to have this with you during the event. As the host, you will have scripted parts as the executive producer of the show (aka: host of the party). 

•  A pre-game packet (PDF files) to send to your players in advance of the party. This packet includes a link to a pre-game website and the first challenge for the hidden Immunity Icon. 

• Solution key for the game - host can play along without spoiling the game.

• Access to graphics used in the game via a host website so the host can screen-share (optional to use).

• 12-minute video file (accessible via private link to YouTube or Vimeo) that guides you through the game along with the Host Game Packet.
