    Sooo fun!

Posted by Ashley Collins on Oct 21st 2019

Our group was about 40 people ages 30ish to 60ish. Everyone loved it! I was asked several times to host one of these again next year. I recommend that the host go ahead and read everything to assign characters. Knowledge of character personalities helped me select the right people for each part. They were able to get into the character and had a blast!

    Lots of fun for teens

Used the 80s Mystery kit with my Venturing Crew. Lots of fun! Everyone got into it and dressed up. They came in with low expectations, and left having a great night! Would play again.

    Best birthday ever!

Posted by Kay on Mar 26th 2018

Hosted the 80s murder mystery for my daughters 14th birthday, and from her mouth “best birthday party ever” I was so happily surprised at how all the kids really got into character and they ALL had a blast, boys and girls! Will definitely do another one! Tips: definitely watch the how to host video and plan ahead if you are preparing the kit yourself, it’s not hard at all, directions were clear and concise

    Great for a Birthday Party

This was a great game that was easy to host and handle. We used the game and the first expansion pack for a 30th birthday with 28 guests. Highly recommend.

Easy to implement and very customizable

I ordered this game for a birthday party (there are four of us with October birthdays, and I love the 80s, so this was perfect). I thought an unscripted double blind mystery might be challenging, but it actually went quite smoothly. The unscripted nature (where each character has certain goals to accomplish in each round) allowed people to express themselves and get creative, and I think we had far more laughs than we would have with a purely scripted event. The additional games are fun to help fill out the evening, and I did take advantage of a couple of the included recipes (two of the drinks, in particular). The players not knowing who the victim was until the appropriate time and who the murderer was until the end kept everyone involved and thinking. The person who ended up being the victim was given another role to play after their death so they could continue to participate. Even the people attending who did not want roles actually became quite involved in the banter. The outcome of the game was logical and not terribly difficult to figure out when examining means motive, and opportunity (with some games, the murderer makes no sense). The flexibility of this game also made it easy to do some last minute cast changes, as two guests had a family emergency and were unable to attend. We thoroughly enjoyed this game and I would order another from this website.

I've done two mystery parties now! Both great!

Great game. Loved the characters, costumes and fun story. I've played the Gatsby game in the past and am still in love with that game , so it's difficult to make a comparison. I like both, though.
